STUDIO · BROOKLYN · LISBON · EST. 2017

A 41-person specialist studio shipping browser-native 3D, AR, and interactive web — without the agency-of-agencies handoff.

Torc Interactive is the in-house team senior brands call when their digital flagship has to feel as physical as the product on the shelf. One continuous crew, two time zones, an average 6.8 weeks from kickoff to launch.

CHAPTER 01 / THE CREW

Forty-one specialists, one crew. No contractors, no outsourcing, no handoff layer.

The team composition behind a 6.8-week average ship cycle — broken down by craft so you can see exactly who you'd be hiring.

  1. 01

    9 Senior 3D Artists

In-house real-time artists shipping production-ready glTF assets. Specialists in PBR materials, hard-surface modeling, and the proprietary Torc Render Pipeline that cuts initial payload by 68% versus the industry median.

    DISCIPLINE · REAL-TIME ART

  2. 02

    14 WebGL & Three.js Engineers

Two of them sit on the Khronos Group glTF advisory working group. The team that owns the WebGL stack end-to-end — from custom shaders to CDN performance tuning — with median mobile time-to-interactive under 2.4s.

    DISCIPLINE · RENDERING & PERFORMANCE

  3. 03

    6 Creative Directors

Senior directors who lead real-time art direction on every project. Three have shipped award-honored work; one led the 2024 Webby Honoree Helio Beauty AR Try-On suite. No account executives in the meetings.

    DISCIPLINE · CREATIVE LEADERSHIP

  4. 04

    4 XR Specialists & 8 Producers

An approved Apple Vision Pro partner team plus the producers who keep the 6.8-week cycle honest. Daily standups, weekly director reviews, fixed-scope sprints — the operational machinery behind 340+ shipped projects.

    DISCIPLINE · XR + PRODUCTION

CHAPTER 02 / TWO CITIES

Brooklyn founded the studio in 2017. Lisbon opened in 2022 to extend the cycle.

One continuous team, two time zones. Production continues while the Atlantic sleeps — the operational reason 6.8 weeks is the average, not the exception.

The founding studio. Twenty-six of the 41-person crew sit here — the senior creative directors, the Khronos-affiliated engineering principals, and the production leads. Where the real-time art direction happens in person and where every kickoff begins.

Opened in 2022 to extend the production window five hours east. Fifteen crew work from the Lisbon studio — focused on asset optimization, mobile performance, and the Torc Render Pipeline work that benefits from a quiet, follow-the-sun handoff back to Brooklyn.

CHAPTER 04 / HOW WE OPERATE

Three principles behind the 6.8-week cycle.

A short list — because the things that actually move a launch forward tend to be operational, not inspirational.

P/01

In-house full-stack ownership.

Real-time art direction, WebGL engineering, CDN performance tuning, and production management all sit inside the same 41-person crew. There is no agency-of-agencies handoff because no one on the project is contracted from another agency. The median mobile time-to-interactive under 2.4s is the output of that single stack owning the work end-to-end.

P/02

Real-time art direction, not static comps.

A senior creative director is in the build from kickoff, reviewing motion in-engine rather than signing off on PDF comps. This is why the 2024 Webby Honoree Helio Beauty AR Try-On suite read as cinematic at first scroll — the framing decisions were made against the running experience, not against a static deliverable.

P/03

Fixed-scope sprints, honest dates.

We commit to a 6.8-week average cycle by scoping tightly and refusing to pad the timeline. If a brief cannot ship inside that window, we say so at the proposal stage — not at week nine. That operating posture is the reason enterprise retainers stay for multiple fiscal years.

CHAPTER 05 / TECHNICAL AUTHORITY

The credentials that distinguish a specialist studio from a general interactive shop.
